BUCKINGHAM PALACE

BUCKINGHAM PALACE

On August 5th 2007, Walthamstow Deaf Club, with the help of the Awards for All Lottery grant, took a big group of its members for a Royal Day out, visiting the Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace and the new Horseguards Museum.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE

We started the day viewing the gold state coach and learning the history of all the Queens’ carriages and horses, then on to the Horseguards Museum to view all the history of the regiment, plus we were able to try on all the official uniforms – great!

A leisurely lunch in St. James Park (taking advantage of the fabulous weather) was then followed by a once-in-a-lifetime tour of the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace.

We were lucky to have Lynne Johnson as BSL Interpreter with us for the whole day.
